Dell XPS 15 9500 Review: Specifications and Prices

Dell Technologies introduces its latest premium laptop for the European market through the Dell XPS 15 9500 series. This laptop comes with a more powerful performance and a larger screen in a more compact total size. This laptop has thin dimensions with a thickness of 18cm and offers powerful performance.

Its performance relies on an Intel Core i7-10750H Comet Lake processor with 6 cores and 12 threads and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650Ti GPU with 4GB GDDR6 Max-Q memory. The Max-Q series is commonly used by slim laptops.

This series is also armed with 16 GB of RAM with dual channel DDR4 mode and storage media using M.2 NVMe SSD with a capacity of 512 GB. This combination is not only suitable for work, but also for playing the latest games with customized graphics options.

To support productivity for content creators, the screen uses 4K UHD+ 3840 x 2400 pixels resolution that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. With a 4-sided Infinity Edge display that is practically borderless, this laptop is the ideal companion for content creators.

The touchscreen features a 0.65% anti-reflection coating using best-in-class panel technology with improved contrast ratio, wider color coverage, and accurate resolution (100% Adobe RGB and 94% DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR certification, Dolby Vision, 500-nit panel).

With a 16:10 aspect ratio, the screen is 5% larger than before but within the laptop's 5.6% smaller dimensions. The XPS 15 is the smallest 15.6-inch high-performance laptop, with a 92.9% screen-to-body ratio and 1 million more pixels.

For support, the XPS 15 9500 is equipped with the Dell Creator Edition badge. Configuration with this badge can speed up the process of video editing and high-resolution graphic design, which are important elements needed for streaming work, editing photos, or creating content on a large screen with accurate color projection. In addition, Eyesafe technology intelligently reduces harmful blue light while maintaining the color sharpness that creative workers need.

The XPS 15 9500 laptop is the first laptop to use Waves Nx 3DAudio speakers. When using headphones, the Waves Nx head-tracking feature adjusts the sound direction to the user's viewing angle.

The XPS 15 9500 can last up to about 10 hours using a battery with a capacity of 86WHr. The heat system development innovation embedded in this laptop is able to accommodate two fans and heat conducting pipes in a laptop design that is 8% thinner, the heat dissipation vents are hidden behind the hinge, and the bottom of the laptop is also slightly raised to help remove hot air even better.

Dell markets the XPS 15 9500 series at a price of 2,853.24 USD and has a warranty period of 1 year. This warranty period is in the form of a service called Dell Accidental Damage Service where the damage covered includes damage due to liquid spills or LCD damage due to falling. In addition, every laptop purchase will get a Dell Pro Slim backpack and anti-virus from McAffe for 12 months.
