Canon launches updated ColorWave and PlotWave printer series

Canon launches updated ColorWave and PlotWave printer series-Canon is now launching new products in the ColorWave and PlotWave large format printer ranges. The series consists of three ColorWave models (3600, 3800 and 9000) and five monochrome PlotWave models (3000, 3500, 5000, 5500 and 7500). They are designed to support and encourage creativity - from the visualisation of ideas through the development process to the final designs. Both upgraded ranges are based on proven and reliable Canon technology and offer enhanced security benefits and even greater ease of use. For architects, engineers, developers, marketing departments and designers who need to meet tight deadlines, protect their data and print right from the first print from both office or production environments, the ColorWave and PlotWave printers are the ideal solution.

Integrating additional finishing and scanning solutions, ColorWave and PlotWave printers now offer an all-in-one solution that makes automated large format print production easier than ever before. With a choice of fully compatible stackers and folders, all printers in the series can be configured to meet specific requirements and easily produce finished documents - all from one printer. Printers can now be upgraded without having to update with finishing equipment. Users can simply retrofit stackers or folders for a complete, end-to-end, compact and productive solution.

There are also different scanning solutions compatible with both series - Scanner Express, which can be integrated on top of PlotWave and ColorWave printers, and Scanner Professional, a standalone production scanner that provides the highest quality and maximum productivity and can be integrated with one or more printers.

The printers in these ranges are designed to be a sustainable, compact and ergonomic solution that fits into any environment - from offices to copy centres to production environments - while being quiet in operation to minimise disruption.

From R&D departments printing confidential prototypes to architectural and construction firms, businesses need to be confident that their data is protected. The new ColorWave and PlotWave series offer this peace of mind - and comply with the strictest security standards.

With integrated SMARTshield print security, the new printers offer secure sending with protection of data and user information when sending a job to the printer. It delivers secure storage by protecting print data from theft or accidental data leaks, authentication at the device to prevent access to confidential files and protection against hacker attacks, preventing anyone outside the company from accessing the printer's files. Whether print data is being sent, stored or authorised at the device, SMARTshield ensures it remains secure.

The new, intuitive ColorWave and PlotWave interfaces are user-friendly and can be used by anyone - experienced and novice operators alike.

Using the ClearConnect software, the printers ensure a streamlined workflow for individual print jobs or complex jobs with multiple files. With active operator notifications and accurate previews, users can also make necessary corrections before pressing print and send prints effortlessly, regardless of location or device.

The POWERsync controller allows any ColorWave or PlotWave printer to be integrated into a network with uniFLOW technology for secure printing and accounting.

Publisher Select is part of the ClearConnect software suite and is designed to save time and speed up the design process. It reduces misprints and wasted material with a "what you see is what you get" preview on the computer. The software improves productivity and offers dual printer support for a range of Canon large format printers. It can assign specialised media designs to print jobs or individual files in a multi-file job.
