Dell unveiled a new convertible laptop series, the Inspiron 7586 2-in-1, and updated the Inspiron 5000 2-in-1 line.
Through this series, Dell tries to make a new breakthrough by launching the largest 2-in-1 laptop on the market. This series comes in three size variants: 13 inch, 15 this and 17 inch. All three are equipped with fairly similar specifications, all of which are centered on the latest generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors.
All three variants both pack 1080p IPS screens. However, specifically for the 15-inch variant, consumers can choose a configuration with a 4K screen and a GeForce 940MX GPU. The 17-inch variant only carries a GeForce MX150 GPU which is included in the entry-level category, while the 13-inch variant doesn't even have a separate GPU.
The large body means that the weight also increases, where the weight of the Inspiron 7586 2-in-1 reaches 3 kg, but at the same time consumers will also get a battery life of up to 11 hours. The RAM can be configured up to 16 GB, and the device also comes with various SSD and HDD based storage options.
For the Inspiron 5000 2-in-1, both the 13-inch and 15-inch variants are now powered by an Intel Core i5-8250U or Core i7-8550U processor. Consumers can choose RAM with a maximum capacity of 16 GB, and the storage media can also rely on an M.2 type SSD.
What distinguishes the 5000 series from the 7586 is the absence of a separate graphics card option, and the screen resolution is stuck at 1080p only. However, the 5000 2-in-1 series apparently comes with active stylus support as a standard feature.
The Inspiron 7586 2-in–1 line and the updated Inspiron 5000 2-in–1 are scheduled to hit the market in October, with the following prices: Inspiron 7586 from $1,000, Inspiron 15 7000 $850, Inspiron 13 7000 $880, and both Inspiron 5000 variants 2 from $800.
