LET PERFORMANCE MATCH YOUR PASSION FOR PRINTING WITH THE NEW CANON PROSTREAM 1800

Canon launches new ProStream 1800 inkjet web printer – the latest model in the ProStream 1000 series. With increased speeds of up to 133 m/min. offers the printer the ultimate resolution and print quality that matches any other digital production printer at this speed. This makes the printer the ideal solution for commercial printing companies that want the ultimate in performance.

The new ProStream 1800 supports the customer's passion for printing and has been designed to push the boundaries of commercial printing to meet the changing needs of customers. The printer combines new inkjet technologies with proven offset printing techniques and offers a unique balance between high productivity, superb print quality, flexibility and media versatility. Commercial printing companies can now expand their product offering by moving larger print jobs from offset to digital inkjet printing. This allows them to strengthen production, significantly reduce lead times and increase print margins on a wide range of applications, including premium and high-volume direct mail, books, catalogs and magazines.

With the higher speed of 133 m/min. (66% faster than the ProStream 1000) the ProStream 1800 produces up to 107,500 A4 sheets or 11,300 B2 sheets 4/4 per hour while maintaining excellent print quality. And increased speeds equal higher production, so you can feel comfortable handling larger volumes both today and in the future.

The ProStream 1800 achieves very high print quality on a wide range of media, including standard offset-coated, uncoated and inkjet-optimized media from 40 gsm to 300 gsm. Print calendars, posters and POS material with the option to print up to 556 mm in width and 1,524 mm in length. There is no need to stop production to switch between different lengths, providing a completely smooth transition and operators gaining additional flexibility and ease of use.

The printer's contactless air drying system dries all jobs evenly, so you can print efficiently on many different media without compromising the high standards of the finished output. Since it does not come into contact with the media, the system protects the printed image to ensure an optimal result and to preserve the gloss of the media and protect its surface. Artificial intelligence (AI), linked to a sensor, makes continuous adjustments to the drying system during the print job to ensure the best quality. Whether printing a fashion catalog or high-quality email campaigns, you can be sure that the application will make an impression. The extra good? It also maintains an optimal roll temperature, which reduces energy consumption.

The ProStream 1800 uses native 1200 dpi piezo drop-on-demand print heads and patented polymer pigment inks with Canon ColorGrip to ensure color consistency. Canon's Inline Quality Control, a high-performance camera system, also provides automatic print quality assurance, so operators can spend less time on quality control.

The successful ProStream 1000 is still available, and existing customers can easily upgrade to the ProStream 1800 if they want to produce larger volumes. In this way, they can easily adapt to changing needs on the market, while at the same time they can still benefit from high quality, high speeds and the possibility of using many different media.

Hans Dalmeijer, Product Marketing Manager, Production Printing Products, Canon Denmark, comments: "At Canon, we share our customers' passion for print, and we understand that – as their companies must adapt to the changing needs of the market – our technologies must also evolve. With the launch of the new ProStream 1800, we can help our customers who want to expand their production volumes without having to compromise on quality and speed. The new printer marks an extension of the successful ProStream technology that was launched in 2017. The ProStream 1800 builds on a base of 30 installed units and we are excited to offer a new solution to customers who want the ultimate in performance.”
