Dell has introduced a new line of laptops for 2021. This time, Dell introduced the presence of the Dell Latitude 9000, 7000, and 5000 series which users will meet this year.
For the Dell Latitude 9000 series, Dell introduced two laptops at once, namely the Dell Latitude 9420 & 9520. Both of these laptops use a new security technology, which has a camera shutter that can be closed automatically.
For this reason, Dell has prepared its latest business laptop, the Latitude 9420, with a series of features that are optimized for WFH (Work Frome Home).
Dell Latitude 9420
Adopting a lightweight aluminum body chassis design, the weight of the Dell Latitude 9420 starts at 1.3 Kg. The good news, Dell Latitude 9420 will be available in two models. In addition to the standard laptop model, Dell is also preparing a convertible version with a flexible screen hinge that can be folded.
In the screen sector, the Dell Latitude 9420 brings a 14-inch touch screen panel with QHD + resolution for the convertible model. For the standard model, the screen resolution is Full HD + without touch features. The screen supports a maximum brightness level of 500 nits, 100% sRGB and is reinforced with a protective layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 6 DX.
Dell Latitude 9420 . specs
The Dell Latitude 9420 will be powered by an 11th generation Intel Core processor. There are no detailed specifications of the available processor options. Even so, according to Dell, its performance has increased by about 66% when compared to the previous model.
Meanwhile, for RAM and storage space, the Dell Latitude 9420 carries a non-upgradeable onboard RAM configuration with options of up to 32GB. The storage space relies on a dual-NVMe SSD M.2 2230.

To support WFH, the Dell Latitude 9420 brings a webcam with better low-lighting capabilities. Dell also features an electromechanical shutter to protect privacy. This feature is useful for closing the webcam automatically when not in use.
In order for video conferencing to take place optimally, Dell has also equipped this laptop with four integrated microphones. The microphone it carries already supports noise canceling features to ensure clearer voice calls and minimal interference from surrounding noise. Meanwhile, for sound output, the Dell Latitude 9420 relies on four pairs of speakers.
An interesting feature of the Dell Latitude 9420 is support for Intel Visual Sensing Technology. The Dell Latitude 9420 was one of the first to support this technology. Intel Visual Sensing Technology can help users to quickly unlock the screen and wake the computer from a sleep position when the user is near the laptop. On the other hand, when the user moves away from the laptop, the screen will automatically lock or the laptop will enter sleep mode.
